here are two ways of approaching this subject as any project big or small is dependant upon three variables: Price, Quality and Speed. For example if a project has to |
be done as fast as possible then corners will have to be cut and the price will go up due to higher resource commitments. Another example would be if a project has to be perfect, the job may have to be reworked several times meaning an extended deadline and raised price. Or if there is a very low budget for a project it can go two ways. Either quality suffers or the timescale can be increased.
These are all extreme examples, usually a balance is made. As exemplified in the web design construction process section of this site, each job be it a web site or a presentation is unique in nature.
So the two ways of approaching this dilemma of pricing and quotations is complex and simple at the same time. Option one is for the client to stipulate the budget available and what is required and then the level of quality and a legitimate timeframe can be quoted. Option two is to state what is required at what qualitative level in a given time span, then a price can be quoted.
